Giving
There are many ways to ensure high-quality health care for future generations in Huron. Here are just a few practical examples:
Cash Donations - If you itemize, your outright gifts of cash are fully deductible for federal income tax purposes up to 50 percent of your adjusted gross income. If your total gifts should exceed this limitation, the excess may be carried forward for tax purposes for up to five additional years.
Online Donations - Online donations are a convenient and easy way to to invest in the future of health care in your own community. Available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, online donations can be made either by a credit card, debit card, checking account or savings account.
Memorials - A perfect way to honor the memory of a loved one, these gifts are also fully deductible for federal income tax purposes.
Life Insurance - If you own a life insurance policy that is no longer needed, consider it as the perfect vehicle for a charitable gift. Or, list the HRMC Foundation as the beneficiary.
Bequests - Consider long-term tax savings, the federal estate tax can still take approximately 50 percent of one's estate at the time of death. That's a higher tax bite than the income tax! Do some advance planning with your professional advisor about a bequest.
Gift Annuity or Deferred Gift Annuity - Invest in an annuity that provides you a tax deduction and provides interest income for the rest of your life. Click here to calculate your potential gift. Ask your tax or investment advisor for more information.
All donors are recognized on the Donor Recognition Wall located just inside the Main Hospital building. Donors are also recognized in the Foundation's annual report newsletter.
