Rob Timm, CFRE
Executive Director
“Papa Luigi is a special event that benefits a different program at Huron Regional Medical Center each year,” explained Timm. “This year's recipient is the HRMC Foundation.”
“For 2010, Papa Luigi is headed to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally,” Timm explained. “Our committee thought long and hard when it selected a more local, yet interesting theme. Our celebrity waiters will have a lot of fun dressing for the occasion. We expect to see quite a few biker babes, leather clad guys and others. You may even see the ultimate Easy Rider, Peter Fonda, and other celebrities waiting on tables.”
The fun-filled event will be held at the Huron Event Center with a 6:00 p.m. social hour followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 each and include a chance to win two airline tickets from Great Lakes Airlines. Another special activity planned for the evening is the return of the popular 50/50 drawing. Last year's 50/50 winner went home with more than $600 cash! All proceeds from this year's event will go to fund the HRMC Foundation’s healthcare scholarships and other hospital support programs.
Papa Luigi is open to the public. Tickets are available from the HRMC Foundation office located in the Huron Towers, from Foundation board members, at www.hrmcfoundation.org or by calling 353-6315.
The purpose of the HRMC Foundation is to raise gift income each year, which will be used to support and endow the maintenance and enhancement of healthcare services on behalf of HRMC. Papa Luigi is one of three major fundraising events that support the Foundation's efforts – and ultimately health care in the area. In March 2009, the Papa Luigi event raised more than $30,000 to help fund the HRMC Hospice Program. To view pictures from the 2009 event, visit the foundation Web site at www.hrmcfoundation.org.
