Help HRMC Celebrate 60 Years of Caring

On Nov. 21, 1947, in the midst of a blinding snowstorm, Mother Mary Jerome, Sister Mary Innocentia and Dr. W. Saxton carried infants from Sprague Hospital to the newly constructed St. John Hospital. St. John was officially opened to patients, and over the next two days, 119 patients were transferred from other area hospitals.

Today, 60 years later, the tradition of passion and dedication exhibited by the Franciscan Sisters and original hospital lives on at Huron Regional Medical Center.

To help us celebrate, HRMC is looking for your stories and memorabilia from the past 60 years. Perhaps you were one of the first patients or remember a story told to you by someone who was. Or maybe you've kept a statement from back in the early days. We're interested in any items or information you’d like to share regarding the years of compassionate care provided by St. John and Huron Regional Medical Center. The items will be used in a special anniversary publication and various events celebrating the momentous occasion.

Memorabilia and stories can be mailed or submitted via e-mail to:
