“Gallbladder problems can cause pain in your right upper belly, especially after eating a fatty meal,” says Terry Larsen, DO, general surgeon at HRMC. “The pain may radiate around your right side to the shoulder blade, and you may have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or jaundice.”

Dr. Larsen recommends talking to your doctor if you have those symptoms so you can discuss options like gallbladder removal. Surgeons may be able to do these procedures on an outpatient basis using laparoscopy, so you can recover faster. And at HRMC, you can return home with less travel time.
