We apologize for the inconvience during this time, but we are excited to share the news of this expansion!

This $9.3 million project will add a second story to the HRMC Physicians Clinic and also remodel space in the hospital's medical imaging and emergency departments.

Within the HRMC Physicians Clinic we will have twice the room with an additional 23,000 square feet and space for 10 additional physicians. This extra room is already needed, driven by the community's trust in our patient care.

The medical imaging department will update the HRMC MRI and add new state-of-the-art 3D mammography while the emergency department will add three additional outpatient treatment rooms and various other changes to improve patient flow.

Medical Imaging / MRI Replacement Update

HRMC's Imaging Center has been the focus of two projects over the last several months. A new 3D mammography suite, located near the front of the imaging department, was completed in early September and the new advanced system is now available for mammograms, just in time for October's Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The MRI suite has been undergoing remodeling and the new unit is here! The first of its kind in South Dakota and North Dakota, Philips Ingenia Ambition 1.5T, is helium-free, provides superb images, up to 50% faster exams and has a larger opening and in-bore entertainment to improve patient comfort. The new MRI is planned to be operational late October.

Emergency Department Update

The emergency department and outpatient treatment areas are also expanding. Two new exam rooms will be added to the emergency room along with updating the negative pressure suite and adding a room specifically designed for patients experiencing psychological symptoms and issues.

The area formerly occupied by the mammography suite will host three private outpatient treatment suites where patients can receive chemotherapy, IV antibiotics, blood products and fluids, infusion treatment and other therapies. The suites will have a dedicated entrance off of the alleyway on the east side of the hospital.

Various other remodeling projects will improve patient flow and update decor. The second phase will remodel portions of medical imaging to provide for sleeping space for on-call doctors and staff.

Physicians Clinic Construction Update

Progress is being made on the second story of the Physicians Clinic with work continuing from a single-story structure to a two-level clinic.

The second story is complete, we are now starting to move exam tables and furniture with employee work stations and technology updates to follow.

The front entrance is now open along with the west parking lot for patients and visitors. You are still able to access the south entrance if you wish.We sincerely appreciate your patience as we finish these last few phases of construction.
