Dr. Todd Anderson: I think that it's important to take the time to get to know the patient and their social situation, their family situation, what they do for a living, their aspirations or what they like to do for recreation and that all goes into trying to decide what the best form of treatment is for a patient. And I also try to take the time to teach the patient about their problem and what the various choices they have available in terms of treatment options and then let them make the decision.
