Family Medicine with Obstetrics Physician Joins HRMC Medical Staff

Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is proud to welcome Sarah Hogenson, MD, to the hospital’s medical staff and HRMC Physicians Clinic family medicine care team. Dr. Hogenson will provide obstetrical care at the HRMC Birthing Center, further expanding local access to full-spectrum family medicine for patients in Huron and the surrounding region.

Originally from Colstrip, Montana, Dr. Hogenson brings a deep commitment to rural healthcare and a passion for serving patients through all stages of life. She completed her residency at North Colorado Family Medicine in the Rural Training Track with an advanced focus in maternity care and high-risk obstetrics. Her clinical experience includes cesarean deliveries, bedside ultrasound, and a wide array of in-office procedures.
“I was drawn to family medicine because I value building lasting relationships with patients and supporting them in every phase of life,” said Dr. Hogenson. “I’m especially excited to offer obstetrical care in a rural setting—it’s so meaningful to help families grow and thrive right in their own community.”
Dr. Hogenson earned her Doctor of Medicine from Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, graduating with distinction in community health. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a minor in Biomedical Science from Colorado State University. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is certified in Point of Care Ultrasound, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Hogenson brings a strong background in community service and rural health advocacy. She has volunteered with therapeutic riding programs, medical brigades in Nicaragua, and local hospitals, and she is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the National Rural Health Association.

When she’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Hogenson enjoys horseback riding, gardening, painting pet portraits, and baking.
