Goergen Promoted to HRMC Inpatient Services Director

Huron, S.D. – Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Amy Goergen, RN, to director of inpatient services, according to Gail Robeson, RN, MBA, vice president of patient services for HRMC.
Goergen, has worked as a nurse at HRMC for nearly 21 years. In her new role, Goergen is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing all administrative and technical functions and activities of the inpatient units including medical, surgical, intensive care and maternity units.
“Throughout her career, Amy has gained valuable expertise and has built strong relationships with staff, physicians, patients and their families,” said Robeson. “Her passion for the patient and family position her well to lead our nursing staff in continuing to provide compassionate, quality care to our patients.”
Goergen is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a bachelor of science in nursing. Her HRMC experiences range from staff nurse to supervision to her most recent role as patient care coordinator of inpatient services for the past 12 years.
“I look forward to working with everyone, as a team, to provide the best quality care possible,” said Goergen. “Huron is my home and I am passionate about creating an environment of healing and support for all of our patients and family members.”
Originally from Huron, Goergen is the daughter of Dick and Katrina Shelton. She and her husband, Stacy, who owns Kustom Klassics, have three daughters: MaKayla, who is a cosmetologist in Rapid City; Sierra, a senior at Huron High School; and Jenci, a second grader. In her spare time, Goergen enjoys attending her childrens events, such as rodeo, tennis and dance. She also enjoys reading, family time and now travelling to Rapid City with family to spend time with her daughter.
