Grimes Promoted to Patient Experience-Utilization Coordinator at HRMC
April 23, 2018
Huron, S.D. – Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Amanda Grimes, LPN, to patient experience-utilization coordinator, according to Gail Robeson, RN, MBA, vice president of patient services for HRMC.
In her new role, Grimes is responsible for ensuring the patient experience is seamless and exceptional. She will work with medical staff, social services and other hospital departments to coordinate care from admission through the patient’s journey to home – to include post-discharge care management. Grimes also serves as a patient advocate and assists with hands-on clinical care when needed.
“I am pleased to welcome Amanda to this role. In her relatively short time at HRMC, she has already made a lasting impression with her energy, compassion and patient focus,” said Robeson. “Her past experience working as a nurse in various healthcare settings has given her valuable experience to lead our efforts in providing patient-centered care.”
Grimes has more than 10 years of experience working as a licensed practical nurse in California and Rapid City. Her leadership experience includes five years as a patient care director at an assisted living facility in Rapid City prior to relocating to Huron. She joined the HRMC team in September 2017 as a nurse on the medical floor and is also cross-trained to same day surgery.
She earned her LPN certification at American Career College-Los Angeles campus and is currently preparing to begin the new Southeast Technical Institute LPN-RN Huron program.
“I am so excited to take on this next challenge in my nursing career,” said Grimes. “I love caring for patients and working with my team to create the best possible experiences for our patients and their families.”
Grimes and her son Mason, who is a first grader at Buchanan School, live in Huron. In her spare time, Grimes enjoys spending time with family and friends.
