November 25, 2024
Timothy Gwaltney has been named director of facilities services at Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC), according to Destiny Finn, vice president of quality and risk management, who oversees facilities services and safety.
Gwaltney will plan, organize, direct, and administer activities involved in the operation, maintenance and security of all HRMC facilities and grounds. He will also establish goals, develop and
implement operating policies and procedures to help ensure safety and emergency preparedness.
“Tim has spent much of his career in maintenance and construction and has valuable experience in leading teams, ensuring the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance as well as leading facility enhancements and renovations,” said Finn.
Gwaltney will also serve as HRMC’s official safety officer. He holds several certificates in safety, infection control and environmental services and is an active member of the Association for Healthcare Environment and Association of Professionals in Infection Control.
Gwaltney’s early career consisted of facilities services in non-healthcare organizations. When he entered the hospital workforce in 2010 as a leader of facilities, environmental services and laundry, he developed a passion for health care. “My specific interest is in health care quality improvement, with a goal to create the best possible environment for patients.”
Tim moved to Huron from Delaware. In his free time, he enjoys exploring nature and spending time outdoors. To learn more about Huron Regional Medical Center, visit huronregional.org.
