HRMC Allowing Limited Visitors
February 11, 2021
Huron Regional Medical Center has updated visitor restrictions to allow one visitor or support person per patient per day at the hospital, HRMC Physicians Clinic and Women’s Wellness Center.
Due to the recent lower COVID-19 transmission rate in our community, some of the temporary restrictions implemented can be lifted at this time. This allows patients to have a visitor or support person in all aspects of hospital care, including the inpatient care units, emergency room and outpatient procedures such as surgery, radiology, clinic and rehabilitation care appointments. No visitors are allowed in COVID care areas.
- Outpatient Services & Clinic Visits: One support person to accompany patient at time of service.
- Inpatient Services: One support person per day during the patient’s stay.
- Birthing Center: One support person to remain on the property for the duration of the mom’s entire stay.
All individuals entering HRMC facilities will continue to be screened for COVID-19 symptoms. They will be asked to follow all infection control guidelines, including proper hand hygiene, and asked to wear a mask. Patients, visitors and support persons may bring their own mask or may opt to wear one supplied by the the safe care screener. Individuals will also be encouraged to maintain six-foot social distances and not to unnecessarily linger in public spaces.
These measures are part of HRMC’s committment to Safe Care, Right Here. If you’ve been putting off important care due to fears about the pandemic, be assured that safety and cleanliness measures are in place and it is safe to seek care – and it could save your life! If you have concerns, please contact your clinic for help in making the best decision for your health condition. Telemedicine visits are available various clinics in the community and at HRMC Physicians Clinic by calling 605-353-7660.
To aid in the safety of our community HRMC continues to administer second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to individuals in Group 1a and 1C. Additionally, local clinics are contacting patients age 70 and older who are in Group 1d. More information about vaccination timelines is available online at www.huronregional.org/covid-19.
HRMC appreciates the support of the community in helping to protect our patients, visitors and staff and reducing the spread of this illness.
