HRMC Auxiliary Hosts Annual Luncheon, Announces Volunteer of the Year
November 07, 2025
The Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) Auxiliary hosted their annual luncheon on Wednesday, October 15 in the HRMC Legacy Plaza Auditorium. HRMC President and CEO, Erick Larson, opened the luncheon with a hospital update and thanked the volunteers for sharing their time and talent at HRMC. Sarah Hogenson, MD, family medicine with obstetrics physician, addressed the group, sharing information about herself and her practice at the HRMC Physicians Clinic.
Bob Eickhoff, president of the HRMC Auxiliary, was announced as the 2025 Volunteer of the Year, as selected by a board of his fellow volunteers. Eickhoff began volunteering in May 2016 and has since contributed over 2450 hours of his time to greeting patients and visitors at the Central Towers information desk, most recently serving each Monday morning. He has served as president of the Auxiliary since January 2023, bringing a keen sense for organization to the role, as evidenced in the store-room and in archiving important auxiliary information in scrapbooks, as well as keeping volunteers informed.
Eickhoff earned an associate degree in accounting from St. Cloud Technical & Community College prior to serving in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1973 and moved to Huron in 1976 where he was employed at Haley’s Fare Way Foods until transitioning to the United States Postal Service in 1983. Bob retired in 2014 with a life dedicated to the service of others, participating in many community and volunteer activities, including Huron Coalition on Aging, the Red Cross, Huron Symphony Orchestra Board, Huron Area Arts Council Board, Huron Area Community Theater, National Active & Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Board, American Legion Post 7, Huron Knights of Columbus, Huron Kiwanis, Huron Area Senior Center, Huron Area Concert Association Board, Huron Chamber, Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Huron Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, and many more.
“Bob has been a thoughtful and organized leader of our Auxiliary and we’re grateful for the commitment and care he’s poured into his volunteerism,” said Erick Larson, president and CEO for HRMC. “The HRMC Auxiliary has continued to make a meaningful impact on our patients, families and staff and we appreciate the heart they bring to our hospital each day.”
In addition to honoring Eickhoff, updates were provided by HRMC Auxiliary board members, Judy Tschetter, Bonnie Sheridan and Eickhoff. Auxiliary volunteers achieving service milestones were recognized with a commemorative pin.

The Auxiliary is seeking additional volunteers to provide a friendly welcome to the hospital and provide assistance in hospital lounges, assisting visitors at the information desks and delivering floral arrangements and newspapers to patients. The Auxiliary volunteers also manage and staff the hospital gift shops located in the main hospital and Central Tower lobbies, which support scholarships and other charitable projects.
