HRMC Celebrates Healthcare Facilities and Engineering Week
October 30, 2015
Huron, S.D. – In celebration of National Healthcare Facilities and Engineering Week, plant operations staff at Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) hosted an open house event for fellow HRMC employees, according to Nathan Hall, facility services director for the hospital.
This weeklong observance, celebrated October 25-31, 2015, recognizes the important role healthcare facility managers, engineers and maintenance staff play in keeping the nation’s healthcare facilities safe and operational.
During the weeklong observance, informational posters were displayed throughout the hospital and maintenance staff created displays complete with examples of the tools they use and actual equipment and repairs they work on daily to help keep HRMC running smoothly.
“Whether it is a preventative maintenance, routine maintenance issue or an emergency such as a flood, tornado or blizzard, my staff stands ready to assist day or night,” said Hall. “I appreciate their dedication and commitment to making HRMC an exceptional place for patients in the region to receive healthcare.”
National Healthcare Facilities and Engineering Week is observed annually during the fourth week of October and is sponsored by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association (AHA). For information on ASHE, visit www.ashe.org.
