HRMC Construction Projects Near Completion

Nearly a year after three construction projects kicked off with the Huron Regional Medical Center Physicians Clinic expansion, one is completed and two are on schedule to be completed in the next 4-6 weeks.
The three projects were designed to improve access to care close to home, as well as provide state-of-the-art technologies to improve the diagnostic capabilities of physicians in the community.
HRMC’s Imaging Center now boasts a new 3D mammography suite and the first of its kind in the region Phillips Ingenia Ambition 1.5T MRI unit, in addition to new flooring, doors and finishes throughout the Center.
HRMC’s emergency department and outpatient treatment area expansion is nearly complete with work being done on the nurses’ station, office areas and flooring. The area formerly occupied by outpatient treatment services and the mammography suite now houses three private outpatient treatment suites where patients can receive chemotherapy, IV antibiotics, blood products and fluids, infusion treatment and other therapies. The suites will have a dedicated entrance of the alleyway on the east side of the hospital. Two additional outpatient treatment rooms can be used for emergency room patients after hours.
In addition, a new negative pressure/isolation room has been constructed and the nurses’ station is being expanded and updated. Various other remodeling projects will improve patient flow and update décor. The ER project is planned to be complete in early June.
The second story of the HRMC Physicians Clinic is nearly complete with just a few finishing touches left to complete. Artwork and furnishings, along with technology and equipment installations will begin next. The plan is for the family practice and pediatric physicians and providers to move to the second floor as a first step. Some of the paint and finishes will be updated on the first floor before moving Tschetter and Hohm Clinic providers into the main floor of the Physicians Clinic the first week of July.
