HRMC Elects New Board Members
August 08, 2025
Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is proud to announce the appointment of five new members to its Board of Directors, bringing a renewed dedication to the hospital’s mission of providing high-quality, local health care to improve the wellbeing of individuals in the region.
Newly appointed board members include Laurie Shelton, retired CEO of the Huron Chamber and Visitors Bureau; Jake Lindgren, financial advisor with Edward Jones; Dr. Anthony Loewen, general surgeon at New Life Clinic; Dr. Kevin Hofer, orthopedic surgeon at HRMC Physicians Clinic and Doug Stahly, an agricultural producer.
Shelton replaces Laurie Solem, who completed her final term and will continue to serve in an emeritus capacity for the upcoming year after serving as Board Chair. Lindgren takes the seat of Justin Picek, who also completed his final term but will remain involved as the construction representative for HRMC’s surgical expansion. Solem and Picek dedicated nine years to service on the HRMC Board, providing valuable leadership and insight.
Dr. Loewen succeeds Dr. Kristen Hughes, while Dr. Hofer steps into the role previously held by Dr. Todd Anderson. Stahly fills the seat formerly occupied by Oscar Luque.
“We’re grateful to our outgoing board members for their years of dedicated service and are pleased to welcome these new leaders who bring valuable experience and a shared commitment to community health,” said Erick Larson, HRMC president and CEO.
Officers for the newly elected board are Angie Uttecht, board chairperson; Dr. Wayne Carr, board vice president; Spencer White, board treasurer, and Dr. Anthony Loewen, board secretary.
The HRMC Board of Directors was again recognized with Gold Certification from Ovation Healthcare for its ongoing commitment to board education and excellence in governance in 2025—a distinction awarded to only a select group of hospitals nationwide.
