HRMC honored its March Exceptional Employee of the Month, Casey Glanzer, RN, with a department reception earlier this month.
HRMC's March Exceptional Employee,
Casey Glanzer, RN along with coworkers,
interim VP-patient services Teresa Haatvedt
and president and CEO, Erick Larson
Glanzer, who works as a registered nurse in HRMC’s emergency room, was nominated by coworkers. “Reliable, intelligent, friendly, efficient and helpful are words that come to mind when coworkers talk about Casey,” according to the nomination.
“She is always willing to pitch in, assist in multiple areas wherever she is needed and is an excellent supervisor, having trained in various hospital departments,” the nomination continued. “Casey makes herself available to all of her patients and is a strong advocate for them. She pays very close attention to her patients and keeps their needs at the forefront of her mind.”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to demonstrate the hospital’s values of being accessible, helpful and knowledgeable. Employees can be nominated by other coworkers or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As March exceptional employee, Glanzer, received a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Glanzer has worked at HRMC for three years, starting as a nurse in the emergency department, then taking over as a supervisor during the COVID-19 pandemic. She currently works as a nurse in the ER. Glanzer earned an associate degree in nursing at Kaplan College San Diego and finished her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at Grand Canyon University.
She was born and raised in Julian, a small community in California. Glanzer currently lives on a farm with her husband, Cain, and their son, Cayden. When she’s not at work, she is usually helping on the farm and enjoying their animals. She enjoys riding horses and when she gets a little time off, she likes visiting back home to California.
Patients or visitors can nominate an exceptional employee by calling 605-353-6539 for a nomination form or via e-mail at hr@huronregional.org.
