HRMC Honors Heer as February Exceptional Employee

Huron, S.D. – Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored its February Exceptional Employee of the Month, Lisa Heer, RN, with a reception on Wednesday, February 8, 2017.
Heer, who has worked as a nurse on the medical and maternity floors at HRMC for nearly five years, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to nominating coworkers, “Lisa is always willing to help her coworkers and has a positive attitude wherever she is working.
“She is a great resource for all staff and is especially willing to train and be a role model for new staff,” the nominaton continued. “Lisa stays organized and calm in any stressful situation, which in turn assists others.
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. Employees can be nominated by other employees or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As February exceptional employee, Heer received a reception with friends, family and coworkers, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Heer graduated from the Lake Area Technical Institute and the University of South Dakota 1 + 1 nursing program. Prior to joining HRMC, she worked in a long-term care facility.
Heer and her husband, Todd, farm near Doland. They have four children: Kyle (Tawnya), Kari (Toby), Kelsey and Krystal (John), who all live in Sioux Falls. When not working, she enjoys camping, riding motorcycle and reading. Her favorite way to spend any free time is with her grandchildren: Breckin, Holden and Everly.
