HRMC Honors Ketelhut as July Exceptional Employee
July 27, 2020

Huron, S.D. – Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored its July Exceptional Employee of the Month, Colton Ketelhut, PT, with a small department celebration earlier this month.
Ketelhut, who has worked as a physical therapist in HRMC’s rehabilitation services department for nearly one year, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to the nomination, “Colton has a heart for helping!
“He builds trust with his patients by educating them about their diagnosis and treatment plans and encourages patients to reach their maximum potential,” the nomination continued. “Colton looks for solutions to problems, has the ability to see what is needed and works to make it happen.”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to demonstrate the hospital’s values of being accessible, helpful and knowledgeable. Employees can be nominated by other coworkers or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As July exceptional employee, Ketelhut received a recognition reception with social distancing, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Originally from Miller, South Dakota, Ketelhut graduated from South Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. He completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of South Dakota in May 2019.
“I am very thankful for the opportunities working at HRMC has given me thus far,” explained Ketelhut. “This last year has been great and I have been blessed to join a staff that has been so willing to help me out along the way!”
Ketelhut and his wife, MiKayla, live in Huron and are expecting their first child in November. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family at Cottonwood Lake or the Missouri River, hunting with his dog, Maverick, and fishing.
