HRMC Honors Miner as October Exceptional Employee

Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored its October Exceptional Employee of the Month, Tom Miner, certified physician assistant, with a small department celebration earlier this month.
Miner, who has worked as a PA-C in the emergency room HRMC for more than four years, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to the nomination, “Tom goes the extra mile for his patients, above and beyond the normal.
“He provides excellent follow-up with his patients after they leave the ER to make sure they understand all instructions,” the nomination continued. “Tom also keeps his coworkers’ morale up by treating them to lunch and always having a positive perspective on any situation!”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to demonstrate the hospital’s values of being accessible, helpful and knowledgeable. Employees can be nominated by other coworkers or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As October exceptional employee, Miner received a candy bouquet, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Miner earned a nursing degree from Huron University and graduated from the physician assistant program at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. Originally from Huron, he graduated from Huron High School and is the son of Hugh and Helen Miner. In his spare time, Miner enjoys hunting and spending time with his children.
