HRMC Honors Mireles as Beyond Exceptional Employee
June 11, 2026
Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) recently recognized Raquel Mireles, PTA, with the Beyond Exceptional Everyday (BEE) Award.
As a physical therapist assistant in the Pro Rehab department, Mireles goes above and beyond to support patients, coworkers and the organization as a whole. A colleague who nominated her for the award shared, “She has consistently stepped up to support both patients and teammates wherever needed. She has willingly covered for sick PTs and PTAs at both the hospital and Pro Rehab South location without hesitation and regularly takes on additional patients when her schedule allows her to help support the team. Beyond patient care, she also goes out of her way to keep patient care areas and waiting rooms clean, organized and welcoming.”
Mireles has been employed at HRMC for over four years and finds joy in being a physical therapy assistant. “What I enjoy most about being a PTA is getting to see people regain their function and return to the activities they love. It brings me joy knowing that what I do makes a positive impact on my patients' lives.”
HRMC’s BEE Award recognizes employees who go above and beyond to demonstrate the hospital’s core values of REACH by being respectful, engaged, available, competent, and helpful. Employees can be nominated by fellow coworkers or by patients or visitors who witness exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments select the BEE Award honoree on a quarterly basis.
As BEE Award recipient, Mireles received a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session, $50, and a lapel pin.
Upon receiving the award, Mireles expressed, “I feel so honored and very grateful to have received this award! I had never really expected to receive the BEE award, so this is pretty exciting! I am so thankful for a team that supports and encourages each other daily.”
Mireles lives in Huron with her husband, Sebastian. Outside of work she enjoys being with her husband or friends and family, disc golfing, thrifting, reading and listening to music.
Patients or visitors can nominate caregivers and employees to receive recognition at huronregional.org/recognition-awards or by calling 605-353-6572.
