HRMC Honors Mirkovic, Wangsness and Say at Annual Awards Celebration
January 27, 2025
Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) presented the annual Innovator and BEE of the Year Awards as well as the first ever Bow Tie Award at the hospital’s Employee Awards Ceremony on Friday, January 17 at the Huron Event Center.
39 employees with milestone service anniversaries ranging from 5 to 35 years were also honored at the event. Their combined years of service totaled 430 years of commitment to HRMC and the health of our community. 18 retirees who joined the 2024 HRMC alumni class were also recognized, representing 485 years of service.
Employees enjoyed a social with music from the Huron High School string quartet and dinner while reflecting on the year, recognizing awardees and celebrating the care provided by all in attendance.
In addition to the years of service awards, HRMC recognized three employees with special awards. Dusan Mirkovic, Pharm.D., was selected as the 2024 Innovator of the Year and Eric Wangsness, radiology technologist, was selected as the BEE (Beyond Exceptional Everyday) Awardee of the Year. Each Innovator and BEE of the Quarter are eligible for the annual awards, as selected by the HRMC Board of Directors. The four DAISY Award winners for the year were recognized, with the DAISY of the Year to be awarded during Nurses Week in May, as the DAISY Award is reserved for nurses.
