HRMC Honors Nowell as Beyond Exceptional Employee
February 26, 2025
Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) recently recognized Koree Nowell, MLT, with the Beyond Exceptional Everyday (BEE) Award.
Nowell is a medical laboratory technician at New Life Clinic. She was nominated for the award by a fellow colleague who shared, “I have witnessed Koree display all our core values across a number of experiences. Even before New Life Clinic joined HRMC, Koree was always open, friendly and helpful.”
Nowell set out in her career in laboratory medicine with a goal of making a meaningful difference for patients. "I found being in the lab very interesting as you get to work behind the scenes in the process of diagnosing patients.” She continued, “My coworkers are the absolute best, and I truly enjoy the variety of patients I get to work with!”
HRMC’s BEE Award recognizes employees who go above and beyond to demonstrate the hospital’s core values of REACH by being respectful, engaged, available, competent, and helpful. Employees can be nominated by fellow coworkers or by patients or visitors who witness exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments select the BEE Award honoree on a quarterly basis.
As BEE Award recipient, Nowell received a meal certificate to a local restaurant, $30 credit to the HRMC employee store, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, and a lapel pin.
Upon receiving the award, Nowell expressed, “I was completely in shock. What an honor to be recognized and chosen for this award for doing what I do in my everyday life.”
Nowell lives outside Huron with her husband, John, and their four boys, Bentlee (11), Cooper (9), Lincoln (7), and Jack (5). In her free time, she enjoys watching the boys’ sports and school events, camping, fishing and playing sports.
Patients or visitors can nominate caregivers and employees to receive recognition at huronregional.org/recognition-awards or by calling 605-353-6572.
