HRMC Honors Sharon as March Exceptional Employee

Huron, S.D. – Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored its March Exceptional Employee of the Month, Lexy Sharon with a reception on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
Sharon, who has worked in HRMC’s radiology department for more than one year, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to nominating coworkers, “Lexy is an absolute pleasure to work with and is always willing to lend a happy hand.”
“She gets exams done in a timely manner, is kind to her patients and makes sure they are comfortable,” the nomination continued. “Lexy stays late, helps take or cover shifts and does what she can, so others don’t need to stress.”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. Employees can be nominated by other employees or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As March exceptional employee, Sharon received a reception with family, friends and coworkers, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Sharon graduated from the cardiac sonographer program at Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls, S.D. She interned in the Heart and Vascular Center at Essentia Health in Duluth, Minn., where she worked for three years prior to joining HRMC. Since joining the hospital team, she has cross-trained into a limited X-ray tech and is currently cross training into vascular ultrasound.
She recently married, Ben, who is a diesel mechanic at JD Concrete. In her spare time, Sharon enjoys playing volleyball and softball and hanging out with friends and family.
