HRMC Honors Sporrer as September Exceptional Employee

Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored Misty Sporrer with the September Exceptional Employee of the Month award on September 29.
Sporrer, who has worked in the human resources department at HRMC for 30 years, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. One coworker noted, “Misty is approachable and able to assist with any concern. If you walk into her office, call or email, she is always available to help with questions.”
Another employee said, “Misty is non-judgmental and always willing to volunteer for extra projects and has done so for years.” The nomination continued, “You can always count on her to help. She does more for employees than we could imagine.”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to demonstrate the hospital’s values of being accessible, helpful and knowledgeable. Employees can be nominated by coworkers or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses an awardee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As September exceptional employee, Sporrer received a candy bouquet, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Sporrer is a native of Huron and began her career at HRMC in 1992 as an HR assistant. In 2004, she was promoted to HR specialist and accepted the role of recruitment and benefits specialist earlier this year. Sporrer is a third-time recipient of the Exceptional Employee of the Month award as she was previously presented with the honor in both 1994 and 2005.
She and her husband, Chad, live in Huron and have two adult sons: Tate, who resides in Lone Tree, Colorado, and Taner, who resides in Aberdeen and attends Northern State University. In her spare time, Sporrer enjoys spending time with her family and friends, fitness, and playing pickleball.
