HRMC Promotes Finn and Goergen

Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce Destiny Finn, RN, has been promoted to vice president of quality and risk management and Amy Goergen, RN, has been promoted to vice president of patient services, according to Erick Larson, president and CEO for HRMC.
Finn, who has worked at HRMC since 2019, most recently served as the director of quality and risk management, leading teams to ensure safe, quality patient care and minimize or eliminate risk to patients. She also served as obstetrics coordinator at HRMC. In her new role as vice president, Finn is responsible for continuing to lead the quality and risk management program, including infection control and employee health. Additionally, Finn will oversee information technology and facilities services as well as advanced practice providers at the HRMC Physicians Clinic. She will provide support and guide teams in establishing and monitoring goals that align with HRMC’s strategic objectives.
“Destiny has proven herself to be a thoughtful, pragmatic champion of our quality efforts,” said Larson. “Her presence on our leadership team affirms the impact she and her team have had, and will continue to have, as we continue our journey to ensure that we are a highly reliable organization.”
Originally from Redfield, Finn earned her nursing degree from Huron University in 2001. Prior to joining HRMC, she worked in various nursing and leadership positions in the Black Hills. She lives in Wolsey and has five children: Taylor, age 25, Lanessa, age 20, Carson, age 13, Grayson, age 11, and Maxon, age 8. In her spare time, she enjoys cheering on her children in their various sporting events and activities.
Goergen, who has worked at HRMC for nearly 29 years and served in various leadership roles, most recently served as the director of the HRMC Birthing Center. In her new role, she is responsible for the patient services division, including all inpatient and outpatient nursing services as well as HRMC emergency services advanced practice providers. In her new role, she is accountable for leading the integration and sustainability of safe clinical care across all patient settings.
“Amy brings a long history of dedication to HRMC coupled with a passion for serving our patients,” said Larson. “She is a brilliant organizer of people, talents, and resources who knows what it looks like to be accountable for accomplishing goals.”
Originally from Huron, Goergen earned her nursing degree from South Dakota State University in 1993. She and her husband, Stacy, live in Huron and have three daughters: Makayla (Jake), age 28, Sierra, age 25, and Jencie, age 15. She has two granddaughters, Bentleigh, age 6 and Brystal, 11 months. In her spare time, she enjoys attending sporting events, watching her youngest child in rodeo events and spending time with her family.
“The fact that we had two very strong leaders emerge from within our organization is an affirmation we have very talented and dedicated team members who make us better each and every day,” said Larson. “I am convinced we could not find individuals who are a better fit, or more qualified, to help us achieve our goals of becoming a world class organization than Amy Goergen or Destiny Finn.”
