HRMC Recognized with S.D. Community Foundation Hometown Hero Award

Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) in conjunction with the HRMC Foundation were recently honored with the Hometown Hero award by the South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF).
Jamie Farmen, SDCF Community Development Coordinator, presented the award. The South Dakota Community Foundation Hometown Hero Award recognizes individuals and organizations who have supported and enhanced the quality of life in their communitites. At a time when independent regional hospitals were becoming less common, HRMC created an endowment with the SDCF to support the mission of the HRMC Foundation in ensuring quality local health care, showing great interest in supporting the community for years to come.
“We are honored to recognize and partner with Huron Regional Medical Center Foundation in making a legacy for their mission to promote and improve community health in Huron. Together, we are bringing philanthropy to life for a stronger South Dakota,” says Farmen.
The HRMC Foundation was created in 1995 to anticipate and meet the ongoing needs of our regional hospital no matter the changes and evolution in health care. Today, the Foundation continues the important work of supporting the health of the community.
SDCF is a public non-profit organization established in 1987. SDCF, with offices in Pierre, Rapid City, Sioux Falls and Aberdeen administers 1,200 funds benefiting hundreds of charitable organizations annually. SDCF distributed nearly $30 million in grants in 2022 which made a tremendous difference in communities statewide. This would not have been possible without the generosity of our donors.
