HRMC Surgery Nurses Earn Advanced Degrees

Huron, S.D. – Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce Katlyn Rostyne and Tarryn Korkow have earned advanced nursing degrees, according to Pam Shoultz, RN, director of surgery for HRMC.
Rostyne, a registered nurse who has worked at HRMC for more than six years, earned her bachelor of science in nursing degree (BSN) from Dakota Weslyan University (DWU). She completed her BSN degree online. Rostyne also holds an associate degree in nursing from DWU, Huron site. Rostyne is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and completed the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor Certification.
Korkow, a registered nurse who has worked at HRMC for more than five years, also earned her bachelor of science degree (BSN) from DWU and completed her degree online. She holds an associate degree in nursing from DWU, Huron site and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
“I am very proud of Katlyn and Tarryn for their discipline and perseverance in pursuing their four-year nursing degrees,” said Shoultz. “The knowledge and experience they have gained through their studies will increase our ability to improve services within the surgery department and throughout our hospital – ultimately enhancing the safe and efficient delivery of healthcare to our patients.”
