Huron, S.D. – Huron Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce Tarryn Korkow, RN, BSN, as the first graduate of their new nurse leadership program, according to Gail Robeson, RN, MBA, vice president of patient services at HRMC.
The HRMC nurse leadership program was developed last year with a focus on transitional leadership and providing nurses with tools, training and practical application to become future nurse leaders. This one-year program provides participants with opportunities to further their career and includes: mentorship, evidenced-base practice, American Nursing Association (ANA) Leadership courses, and more. Two candidates are selected annually.

Tarryn is active on several committees, researching and initiating new and improved care and services at HRMC. Tarryn is certified in PALS, ACLS, BLS and TNCC.
“I am very proud of Tarryn for taking the initiative to complete the necessary training and education for this program,” said Robeson. “Since her arrival as a young nurse at HRMC, Tarryn has continued to learn and grow in both her nursing practice and leadership ability.”
Korkow earned an associate of arts degree in nursing from Dakota Wesleyan University in 2010 and a bachelor of science degree in nursing in 2015.
“I truly appreciate the opportunity to continue learning and growing at HRMC,” says Korkow. “And, I am very proud to be a part of a facility that promotes a strong focus on transitional leadership!”
