Huron, S.D. – Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Jeannie Keating, RN, to the role of nurse manager, according to Gail Robeson, RN, MBA, vice president of patient services for HRMC.
In her new role, Keating provides leadership for nursing staff and coordination of patient care services throughout the patient service division. Her focus is on coordinating both maternity and inpatient nursing care teams, working with supervisors, coordinators and the inpatient service director to deliver exceptional care to HRMC patients.
“I am excited to welcome Jeannie to this new role,” said Robeson. “She’s been a valuable member of our nursing team and her experience and leadership will provide a guiding force as we expand our maternity unit and strive to deliver exceptional care to each patient.”
Jeannie started her career at HRMC as a nurse aide and has worked as a staff nurse for more than 27 years. Most of those years were spent working nights in maternity, along with supervision. Recently, she transferred to days as a home health nurse.
Keating earned an associate of nursing degree from Huron University and has started the process toward earning her BSN degree. Prior to joining HRMC, she worked as a nurse aide at the Huron Nursing Home and Violet Tschetter Nursing Home.
“I am looking forward to this next step in my career journey at HRMC,” said Keating. “I’m so excited to be a part of creating an even more comfortable atmosphere for our new moms and helping my team be the best they can be.”
She and her husband, Mike, who works at Agtegra in Yale, live in Iroquois and have two sons: Blake, who works at Truck and Trailer, and Adam, a junior at Iroquois High School. She spends her spare time enjoying friends and family and following her kids’ activities.
