Lansing Named Exceptional Employee for September

Huron, S.d. – Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored its September Exceptional Employee of the Month, Sue Lansing, with a reception on Wednesday, September 9, 2015.
Lansing, who has worked as the executive secretary for patient services for one year was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to nominating coworkers, “Sue is a creator who is always looking for better ways of doing things.
“She works diligently and tirelessly to accommodate others and meet deadlines – there is no challenge too great for Sue.,” the nominaton continued. “She has an engaging smile that reflects her positive personality and her genuine care and concern for others.”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. Employees can be nominated by other employees or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As September exceptional employee, Lansing received a reception with friends and coworkers, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Lansing was born and raised in Upstate New York and worked for a skilled nursing facility there for 36 years before moving to Alpena last year with her husband, Sam, who is a taxidermist and trains dogs.
“We’ve dreamed of in living in South Dakota for more than 30 years. After much looking, we finally settled in Alpena and love the area – everyone has been so welcoming,” said Lansing. “I really like working at HRMC, the job is challenging and rewarding and I enjoy coming to work, especially the people I work with.”
In her spare time, Lansing enjoys pheasant hunting and spending time with their three English setters; Woodstock, Forest Gump and One-Way.
