October 24, 2016
Huron, S.D. – Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored its October Exceptional Employee of the Month, Doug Lindsey, with a reception on Wednesday, October 12, 2016.
Lindsey, who has worked in security at HRMC for eight years, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to nominating coworkers, “Doug has a quiet way about him as he goes about his regular rounds keeping hospital staff and patients safe and buildings secure.”
“He takes responsibility for life safety preventative maintenance and is the ‘go to’ person for training new staff on plant alarms and the security system,” the nominaton continued. “Many people depend on Doug because they know if he sees something that needs to be done – he does it!”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. Employees can be nominated by other employees or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As October exceptional employee, Lindsey received a reception with friends and coworkers, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Lindsey graduated from Huron High School and is the son of Hugh and Georgia Lindsey. He returned to Huron in 2008 after working for Delta Airlines for 18 years in Alaska and Florida. Lindsey has two sisters and a brother: Barb (Mike) Graham of Toledo, Ohio; Deb (Wayne) Jungemann of Huron; and Phil Lindsey of Huron. In his spare time, Lindsey enjoys fishing and hunting.
Patients or visitors can nominate an exceptional employee by calling 353-6539 for a nomination form or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
