Lyngaas Joins HRMC Emergency Room

Huron, S.D. – Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) announces the addition of Jacob Lyngaas, physician assistant, MPA, PA-C, to the emergency room staff, according to Gail Robeson, RN, MBA, vice president of patient services for HRMC.
Lyngaas, who began his duties in September, assesses and treats patients working in cooperation with the patients’ physicians and the emergency room medical director, Dr. William Miner, according to Robeson.
Lyngaas has completed family, internal and behavioral medicine, cardiology, general surgery and emergency room rotations at various clinics and hospitals in Kansas. He diagnoses and treats variety disease and also prescribes medications. Lyngaas is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and the State of South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners.
Prior to his physician assistant training, Lyngaas worked as a Human Services Counselor at the South Dakota Human Services Center in Yankton, SD.
“Jake has already proven himself a great addition to our emergency room team,” said Pat Woolridge, RN, MSN, MHA, director of HRMC’s emergency room. “His knowledge and experiences working with a variety of patients and conditions complement our team and will allow us to continue providing healthcare to patients when they need it most.”
Lyngaas earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from the from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. He recently graduated with a master of science in physician assistant studies from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. Lyngaas is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Originally from Britton, South Dakota, he recently returned to his hometown and has a three-year-old English springer spaniel named Harper. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, spending time at the lake in the summer and other outdoor activities. Lyngaas is also an avid sports fan including Minnesota Twins and Green Bay Packers.
