Muller Honored as National Kidney Foundation Outstanding Technician

Juana Muller, CCHT, CNA, was recently recognized as the 2024 Outstanding Technician from the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) at their annual Spring Clinical Meetings event held May 14-18 in Long Beach, California. Only one outstanding technician is recognized by the NKF at the Spring Clinical Meetings event on the national level each year.
Muller works as a certified clinical hemodialysis technician (CCHT) at the Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) Dialysis Center. She was drawn to the medical field at a young age with a passion for caring for others and a desire to learn about the extraordinary design and intricate workings of human biology and anatomy. She continued that desire to learn when she was the first to complete the hemodialysis technician training program at HRMC.
The award was accepted on Muller’s behalf by Jennifer Jungemann, RN, director of dialysis at HRMC. “I am incredibly proud of Juana and value the excellent care and compassion she delivers to our dialysis patients,” said Jungemann. “She was a trailblazer in jumping into the certified dialysis technician program we implemented and I’m excited to see what the next steps hold for her.”
Muller and her husband reside in Huron with their two children. She has interest in continuing her medical education in the pursuit of a degree in nursing and enjoys church and family activities in her spare time.
“I was surprised to be chosen for this honor,” said Muller. “I really enjoy the connection I get to make with patients as a dialysis technician and just really enjoy helping people.”
HRMC Dialysis is located at 142 3rd Street SE in Huron and provides renal dialysis treatments three days per week in the recently renovated and expanded Christen & Hohm Dialysis Center.
