Huron, S.D. – Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored its July Exceptional Employee of the Month, Karen Quiram with a reception on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.
Quiram, who has worked as a housekeeper at HRMC for four years, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to nominating coworkers, “She is very positive and enthusiastic about her job and her performance.”
“She is conscientious and takes the time to move furniture and boxes to vacuum under and get into corners,” the nomination continued. “You can see Karen genuinely enjoys her job.”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to demonstrate the hospital’s values of being accessible, helpful and knowledgeable. Employees can be nominated by other coworkers or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As July exceptional employee, Quiram, received a reception with family, friends and coworkers, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Quiram has worked as a housekeeper in the area for the last 15 years. She and her husband, Gary, live in Wolsey and have two grown sons: David (Kathryn) who live in St. Louis, Missouri, and Kyle, who lives in Mitchell.
Patients or visitors can nominate an exceptional employee by calling 605 353-6539 for a nomination form or via e-mail at hr@huronregional.org.
