Roller Assumes Radiology Medical Directorship, brings Teleradiology to HRMC

Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce Luke Roller, MD, founder and chief executive officer of Independent Medical Consultants (IMC), has been named medical director of radiology for the organization. Board-certified IMC radiologists, Dr. Roller and Alex Feng, MD, MBA, along with their partnered team of teleradiologists, will provide interpretation for all imaging studies performed at HRMC and the HRMC Physicians Clinic, ensuring seamless, expert radiology services for the community.
This transition is in preparation for the retirement of Jim Schwaiger, MD, who has served as HRMC’s medical director of radiology and staff radiologist for nearly 23 years. HRMC extends its gratitude to Dr. Schwaiger for his dedication and long-standing commitment to the organization and community and congratulates him on his well-earned retirement.
Dr. Roller and Dr. Feng will interpret 3D mammography and breast ultrasound studies performed at HRMC. Both certified by the American Board of Radiology, their expertise and commitment to continuing education and advances in medicine ensures the highest level of care in breast diagnostics, supporting early detection and improved outcomes.
Through this new partnership, Dr. Roller’s associated teleradiology group will also provide comprehensive, remote interpretation across all imaging modalities including MRI, CT, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, Dexascan and X-ray, with access to radiologists in a wide variety of specialties, enhancing HRMC’s ability to offer timely, high-quality diagnostics with specialized interpretation.
“Even though Dr. Feng and I are providing tele-radiology services, we are also experienced hospital-based radiologists in our own communities, and we value the personal relationships we’ve built with local practitioners and patients,” said Dr. Roller. “While we’re not physically in Huron every day, we strive to provide the service just like we are.” He continued, “HRMC is well positioned with excellent equipment and techs when it comes to imaging, and we are going to work to ensure our interpretations and reports are just as accurate as patients could get at any top facility.”
Dr. Roller, a North Dakota native, practices and resides in Bismarck along with operating IMC teleradiology with Dr. Feng, who lives in Minneapolis. Both Drs. Roller and Feng completed their residency training in general diagnostic radiology at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Roller then completed a fellowship in interventional and vascular radiology, and Dr. Feng completed a fellowship in neuroradiology.
To ensure the region has access to the most technologically advanced imaging capabilities, HRMC has invested in new technology including state of the art CT, MRI and 3D mammography. “Our patients and providers rely on advanced imaging to detect and diagnose issues quickly and accurately for the best possible outcomes,” said Lexy Sharon, director of medical imaging for HRMC.
