Sharon Promoted to Lead Medical Imaging Services at HRMC

Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce Lexy Sharon, RDCS, RVT, has been promoted to director of medical imaging at HRMC, according to Kim Rieger, vice president of ancillary and support services for HRMC.
Sharon fills the role of long-time director, Deb Rycraft, as she prepares to retire after more than 40 years of service to HRMC and 10 years leading the medical imaging department.
In her new position, Sharon will plan, organize, direct, coordinate and evaluate medical imaging services for HRMC and the HRMC Physicians Clinic, working with her team to continue the delivery of quality diagnostic imaging services to help medical providers quickly and accurately diagnose and treat patients.
Raised on a farm near Arlington, Sharon gradutated from Arlington High School and earned an associates degree in cardiac sonography from Southeast Technical College. She began her career at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota and joined HRMC in 2017 as a sonographer, specializing in echocardiography and has cross-trained to gain skills in multiple modalities including abdomen, vascular and OB ultrasound and X-ray.
“In her six years at HRMC, Lexy has proven herself as a knowledgeable and conscientious technologist, an innovative thinker and problem solver and a dedicated, compassionate team member,” said Rieger. “Her quiet strength and passionate desire to make a difference in the lives of our patients serve as a strong foundation to lead our medical imaging team into the future.”
Sharon is eager to lead the medical imaging team and to continue to provide high-quality imaging services right here in Huron. “It’s been an honor to have Deb as a mentor and to work with our talented technologists,” said Sharon. “I’m really looking forward to leading this great team while ensuring we continue to offer innovative and cutting-edge technology locally.”
Sharon and her husband, Ben, who works for the Beadle County Highway Department and is an EMT for the Huron Ambulance Service, live in Huron and have two children: Hudson (3) and Peyton (1). When not at work, Lexy enjoys spending time with her family, playing volleyball and enjoying her backyard under the pergola.
