Ulvestad Recognized as HRMC Innovator of the Quarter

Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) recently selected Anna Ulvestad, materials management agent/buyer, to receive the Innovator of the Quarter Award.
She recently submitted an innovative idea to implement a crosswalk on 4th Street between the HRMC Central Towers and Huron Clinic and American Lutheran Church alley. She states, “This idea was created with the help of Kristina in our pharmacy department as there are many HRMC employees who cross that street to deliver important supplies and care for patients at New Life Clinic and the Christen & Hohm Dialysis Center. It can be a busy street, so anything to help pedestrians be safe is a win!” Ulvestad's suggestion will kick off a process to request a crosswalk, which will enhance employee and patient safety.
Upon acceptance of the award Ulvestad remarked, “I am very honored to be chosen for this award, as I know that there are many other great ideas out there as well! To be selected from hundreds of employees and to be recognized and surprised by the entire administration team is definitely very rewarding!”
Each quarter, the Innovator Award is presented and celebrated, indicating eligibility for an annual Innovator of the Year Award. Ideas are submitted by employees via online form or paper suggestion card and are selected by a committee of peers based upon impact to patient and employee experience, feasibility, and innovation. The Innovator Award celebrates the power of innovation in solving practical problems and enhancing the quality of care delivered at HRMC.
Ulvestad has been at HRMC for nearly three years. “My favorite part about my job is being able to answer questions and help people in whatever way I can. Since I am not in the patient care realm, I take great pride in helping those that do. HRMC is such a friendly, welcoming, work environment and it has been so much fun growing here over the last few years!”
Ulvestad lives in Huron with her dog and three cats. In her free time, she loves to watch the Philadelphia Eagles, spend time with her animals and enjoys painting.
