Amanda Soesbe, CPA, Chief Financial Officer
Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce the addition of Amanda Soesbe, CPA, as its new vice president of finance and chief financial officer, according to Erick Larson, president and CEO.
“Amanda brings a strong combination of technical expertise, health care experience, and collaborative leadership,” said Larson. “Her background in rural health care finance and her commitment to stewarding resources responsibly will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen local access to care.”
Soesbe joins HRMC from Winner Regional Healthcare Center, where she has served as Chief Financial Officer since 2020. In that role, she was responsible for the overall financial health of the critical access hospital, providing financial leadership while overseeing multiple departments.
At HRMC, Soesbe will lead and direct the financial operations of the organization and provide oversight and guidance for financial and patient access departments. Soesbe assumes the role held by Marcia Zwanziger for over 30 years. Zwanziger now serves in a consultative capacity as she nears retirement.
Soesbe holds a joint degree from the University of South Dakota, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Health Services Administration and a Master of Professional Accountancy through a five-year program.
Originally from Watertown, and a resident of the Gregory area, Soesbe was drawn to HRMC not only by the professional opportunity, but also the physical proximity to the facility on her trips through Huron over the summer. “The road construction led me right past HRMC on the way to see my family in Watertown. I had interest in the position and it just seemed right to pursue the opportunity.”
Soesbe and her husband, Larry, a cattle rancher, live near Gregory, with their two children, Rylee (6) and Wyatt (3). She will work in a hybrid capacity, spending part of each week on campus in Huron while remaining closely connected through on-site presence and remote collaboration.
Soesbe shared that she is especially excited to get to know HRMC staff and operations firsthand. “I enjoy being out and about, meeting people, understanding workflows, and learning how departments function day to day,” she said. “I think it’s very special that a community this size has such an impressive hospital and protecting that takes diligence, thoughtful use of resources, and sometimes looking at challenges in a new way. I’m excited to bring fresh ideas, build on what’s already working, and be part of a team that’s committed to providing local care.”
