The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day.
The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way. To learn more, visit DAISYFoundation.org.
Please say thank you by sharing your story of how a nurse made a difference you will never forget!

As an extension of the DAISY Award, created to bring attention to the compassionate and skillful care provided by nurses, the BEE Award was put into place to recognize staff members that is beyond exceptional everyday (BEE). Just as in nature, the DAISY is reliant on the BEE for survival, at HRMC, our nurses are dependent on the incredible teamwork and support provided by other healthcare professionals.
This award is designed to nominate any staff member, aside from nursing and department directors, at HRMC who upholds the HRMC values, is focused on teamwork and growth, and demonstrates an exceptional attitude everyday.
