Opstedahl Joins HRMC to Lead Patient Services

Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce DeeAnna Opstedahl, RN, MSN, CNOR, has been named vice president of patient services, according to Erick Larson, president and CEO for HRMC.
Opstedahl, who started her new role on April 4, leads all inpatient and outpatient nursing services for the hospital. She is responsible for leading the integration and sustainability of safe clinical quality across all patient care settings.
“DeeAnna has a demonstrated history of more than 30 years working in the hospital and health care industry,” said Larson. “Her knowledge and experiences will help us continue to provide excellent patient-centered care with a personal touch to local and area residents, close to home.”
She earned her Master of Science Degree in nursing, focused on leadership and management, from Walden University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD.
Opstedahl began her career as a staff nurse in Deadwood and spent more than 15 years working in hospitals in Spearfish and Sturgis, including leadership roles as Acute Care Director and Surgery Director. Since January 2010, DeeAnna has worked at St. Alexius Health Dickinson (formerly St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Centers) in Dickinson, North Dakota, where she served as the Vice President of Patient Care Services. She served as interim President at St. Alexius Health since October 2020.
“I look forward in working with all the staff at HRMC to continue to provide excellent quality care to our community and surrounding areas,” said Opstedahl. “I also look forward to becoming an active member in the community.”
Opstedahl and her husband, Jon, have two sons; Gabe, who is 24 and lives in Dickinson, ND, and Greg, who is 22 and lives Bismarck, ND. In her spare time, she enjoys fishing and any water activities including wake boarding and tubing. She also enjoys reading.
