    Your Room

    So that we can provide the best possible care for your individual needs, your room is chosen for you based upon your diagnosis.  If you have a concern about your room or the location, please visit with a staff member. Each room contains the following amenities:

    • Electronically controlled bed with bedside controls;
    • Nurse call system within easy reach;
    • Private shower;
    • Color television with remote control;
    • Private telephone; and
    • Comfortable chair for you or a visitor.

    Pullout beds are also available for overnight visitors. If you wish for a family member or friend to remain overnight in your room, please discuss this with your physician or the nursing staff.

    Your Comfort & Convenience

    All rooms in the hospital are centrally heated and cooled.  If your room temperature is not comfortable, please notify a member of the HRMC team HRMC televisions are equipped to provide a wide selection of viewing.  A channel listing is available in each patient room.  A portable remote control is available for use in each patient room.  If one is not available, please ask staff to bring one to your room.  Patient rooms on second and third floors are equipped with a DVD player for your convenience. 

    Free Wi-Fi Internet Access

    All rooms, waiting rooms and hallways have free access to HRMC’s high-speed, Wi-Fi Internet access.

    Daily Newspaper Delivery

    Newspapers, courtesy of the HRMC Foundation, are delivered to patient rooms and are provided in the waiting rooms. Newspapers may be purchased at the main entrance to the hospital.

    Telephone Service

    The telephone is available for use in your room free of charge.  Friends and family can call direct to your room by dialing 353-6 plus your 3-digit room number (353-6XXX) or 1-800-529-0115 and providing the patient name and/or room number.  Public telephones are also available for local calls.  Please ask a hospital staff member to direct you to one. To place a call within HRMC, simply dial the last three digits of the number. For local calls outside the hospital, simply dial “9” and then the number. To reach the HRMC operator, dial “0”. Collect calls and credit card calls may be dialed as follows: 9 + 0 + area code + number.

    Cell phones may be used within the hospital. However, patients and visitors should silence their cell phones if entering patient care areas so ringers and alarms do not disturb other patients and staff.

    Condition Reports

    Your privacy is very important to us. There may be times, however, when a patient wants us to share information about his or her condition with family or friends. Upon admission, you will be offered the option to name family members or friends who you would like to receive information about your condition via a written consent form. We will then provide you with a code number to provide to those contact persons. When the contact person calls HRMC, he or she will need to state their name, the patient's name and the code number. You may add or remove contact persons at any time.

    Another way to keep friends and families informed of your condition is CaringBridge®, a free service that allows you to create a personal Web page to write journal entries or share photos. To learn more, visit CaringBridge.org.
